Chart Timeframes in MetaTrader 4 Platform
Periodicity just means time frame, in MetaTrader 4 this toolbar is used to select which time-frames to trade with.
The time-frames listed are:
- 1 Min - M1
- 5 Minutes - M5
- 15 Minutes - M15
- 30 Minutes - M30
- 1 H - 1H
- 4 Hours - H4
- Daily - D1
- Weekly - W1
- Monthly - MN
As a gold trader you only require to trade with only about 3 chart timeframes, for example let us say one only requires the 15 minute, the 1 hour and the 4 hours timeframe, then on the periodicity tool-bar a gold trader can hide all the others which are not required by using the following technique.
How to Customize
To add a trading tool not listed above a trader has to follow the following steps
- Right Click at the tool bar button key to the left (Looks like a stack of many coins), shown & illustrated below
2. Click customize
After following above steps the customize pop up window will appear just as displayed below:
Select just as shown above & click remove button.
The popup panel will then look like:
On the platform the periodicity tool bar will now look like the illustrations illustrated and shown below:
Using the above setup as a xauusd trader you can save space within your MT4 software workspace by hiding the time frames which you're not trading with.
