Trading Chart Timeframes in MT4 Platform

Periodicity just means chart timeframes, in MT4 this toolbar is used to select which chart timeframes to trade with.

The timeframes listed are:

1. 1 Min - M1
2. 5 Minute - M5
3. 15 Min - M15
4. 30 Min - M30
5. 1 H - H1
6. 4 Hours - H4
7. Daily - D1
8. Weekly - W1
9. Monthly - MN

As a trader you only require to trade with only about 3 chart timeframes, for example let's say one only requires the 15 minute, the 1 hour & the 4 hours timeframe, then on the periodicity toolbar a trader can hide all the others which are not required using the following technique.

How to Customize

To add a tool not listed above one has to follow these following steps

1. Right Click at the toolbar button key to the left (Looks like a stack of coins), shown below

2. Click customize

After following above steps the customize popup window will appear as shown below:

Select as illustrated above & click remove button.

The popup panel will then look like:

On the platform the periodicity tool bar will now look like the examples illustrated below:

Using the above setup as a trader you can save space within your MetaTrader 4 platform workspace by hiding the timeframes which you're not trading with.
