MT4 CFDs Chart Time Frames: Periodicity on Charts in MetaTrader 4 Trading Software

Periodicity is commonly referred to as CFDs Chart Time Frames by many cfds traders. On the MetaTrader 4 platform.

The button below is used to select the periodicity or chart timeframe to trade with. This button can be accessed on the MT4 software as shown below.

On the MT4 cfds software these chart timeframes are:

1. 1 Min Chart Time Frame - M1
2. 5 Minute CFD Chart Timeframe - M5
3. 15 Minute CFD Chart Time Frame - M15
4. 30 Minutes Chart Time Frame - M30
5. 1 Hour CFD Chart Timeframe - H1
6. 4 Hours Chart Time Frame - H4
7. Daily CFD Chart Time Frame - D1
8. Weekly CFD Chart Timeframe - W1
9. Monthly CFD Chart Timeframe - MN

How to Know Which Chart Time Frame You are Using

A common question especially if you're new to cfd would be how to identify which chart timeframe you are using on your MT4 trading platform:

There are various methods of knowing which MetaTrader 4 chart time frame you're using as Shown below:

Use the above Menu as Shown above

In the above example once you choose the periodicity button under the charts menu, then the list of cfd MT4 chart timeframes is shown and the chart timeframe that's currently selected, the one that you're using will be highlighted with a different color, on our above example this is the 1 Hour(H1) chart timeframe, whose Icon on the left is highlighted in light blue.

MT4 CFDs Chart Change Chart Timeframe - How to Change MT4 CFDs Chart Time Frame

This MT4 periodicity tool bar is by default located at the top of the Meta Trader 4 cfds software & has all cfds chart timeframes marked as pictured below. The chart timeframe that a trader is using will be marked differently from other chart timeframes, the selected chart timeframe will be "indented" as shown below:

When you open a chart you can then use above three methods to know which periodicity - chart timeframe you are trading with.

You can also use the tabs, if you're trading many charts. To view this tab, Go to "View Menu" then Choose "Charts Bar". The following Meta Trader 4 bar will then appear that you can use to navigate & it demonstrates the cfds as well as the chart timeframe.
